Woodman’s Trash Removal Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: August 25, 2026
1. Overview
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the trash removal services provided by Woodman’s Trash Removal (“Woodman’s,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) to our customers (“Customer,” “you,” or “your”).
By signing up for or using our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
Woodman’s Trash Removal is a locally owned and operated trash removal company serving Wells, Maine and surrounding areas.
2. Service & Pickup
Woodman’s Trash Removal provides weekly residential trash pickup based on the service selected at signup.
Our standard weekly pickup schedule is Wednesday, unless otherwise communicated by Woodman’s Trash Removal.
Customers are responsible for having their trash bin accessible and ready for collection before our scheduled pickup time. We may begin our route early, and we may not be able to return to an address that was not ready when our driver arrived.
Trash bins should generally be placed at the agreed-upon pickup location by Tuesday night.
Pickup schedules may occasionally change due to weather, holidays, road conditions, equipment issues, or other circumstances outside of our control.
3. Trash Bin Policy
Woodman’s Trash Removal provides customers with a 96-gallon trash bin for use with their service unless otherwise agreed upon.
Customers are responsible for the care of any Woodman’s Trash Removal bin provided to them.
The following rules apply:
All trash must be properly bagged and tied.
Trash must be placed inside the provided bin.
The bin lid should be able to close properly.
Customers may have multiple bins if they have signed up and are being billed for multiple bins.
Customers may not permanently modify, paint, drill, or otherwise alter company-owned bins.
Bins must be accessible to our crew on the scheduled pickup day.
Customers are responsible for damage to or loss of company-owned bins caused by misuse, negligence, theft, or other customer-related circumstances.
Woodman’s Trash Removal reserves the right to charge for a lost, stolen, or damaged company-owned bin when the damage or loss is determined to be the customer's responsibility.
4. Amount of Trash
Our standard 96-gallon bin is intended for normal household trash.
As a general guideline, one 96-gallon bin can hold approximately 7 large standard kitchen trash bags, provided the bags are properly tied and the lid can close.
Trash should not be piled above the top of the bin or placed in a manner that prevents the lid from closing.
We reserve the right to leave behind trash that is unsafe, improperly prepared, prohibited, or significantly exceeds the amount reasonably intended for the customer's service.
If you regularly need additional capacity, additional bins may be added to your account for the applicable weekly rate.
5. Bagging Requirements
All household trash must be placed in properly tied trash bags before being placed in the bin.
Loose trash should not be placed directly into the bin.
Proper bagging helps prevent litter, odors, leaks, pests, and unsafe working conditions for our crew.
Woodman’s Trash Removal is not responsible for loose trash that spills from an improperly prepared bin or for liquids that leak from improperly bagged trash.
6. Accepted Materials
Our standard residential service is intended for ordinary household trash and acceptable household recycling.
Examples of generally acceptable household waste include:
Household garbage
Food waste that is properly bagged
Paper products
Household packaging
Bagged household recycling
Small ordinary household items that can safely fit inside the bin
If you are unsure whether an item is acceptable, please contact Woodman’s Trash Removal before placing it in your bin.
7. Prohibited Materials
For safety, environmental, and disposal-facility reasons, certain materials are not accepted through our standard residential trash service.
Prohibited materials include, but are not limited to:

This list is not necessarily complete. Woodman’s Trash Removal reserves the right to refuse any item that we reasonably believe is unsafe, prohibited, hazardous, or unsuitable for our service.
If prohibited materials are found in a customer's trash, service may be refused or suspended, and the customer may be responsible for any disposal, handling, cleanup, or other costs resulting from the prohibited material.
8. Recycling
Woodman’s Trash Removal may accept household recycling when properly prepared and placed inside the provided trash bin, unless otherwise specified for your service.
Recycling must be properly bagged if required by our current service guidelines.
Customers are responsible for following any recycling requirements communicated by Woodman’s Trash Removal.
9. Customer Responsibility for Access
Customers are responsible for making sure our crew can safely access the trash bin.
Pickup locations must be reasonably accessible and free from:
Parked vehicles
Snow or ice

Unsafe conditions
If our crew cannot safely access the bin, we may be unable to complete the pickup.

10. Non-Curbside / Driveway Service
Non-curbside or driveway pickup may be available for an additional fee and must be approved by Woodman’s Trash Removal.
Driveways must be reasonably accessible and safe for our equipment.
Woodman’s Trash Removal reserves the right to refuse driveway or non-curbside service if the location cannot safely accommodate our truck, trailer, or equipment.
We are not responsible for damage to lawns, driveways, pavement, landscaping, or other property resulting from normal access to an approved pickup location, except where caused by our negligence or as otherwise required by law.
11. Weather & Service Delays
Severe weather, snow, ice, flooding, road closures, mechanical issues, disposal facility closures, or other circumstances may occasionally prevent or delay service.
Our priority is the safety of our customers, employees, and equipment.
If service is delayed, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate any schedule changes and complete the pickup as soon as reasonably possible.
12. Payments & Billing
Customers agree to provide accurate and current billing information when signing up for service.
Standard residential service is billed monthly, using the payment method provided by the customer and kept on file.
By signing up for automatic billing, you authorize Woodman’s Trash Removal and its payment-processing provider to charge your payment method for applicable service charges and other amounts owed on your account.
This may include:
Regular service charges
Additional bin charges
Approved additional services
Applicable fees
Outstanding balances
Customers are responsible for keeping their payment information current.
If a payment is declined, customers may be contacted to provide an updated payment method. Woodman’s Trash Removal reserves the right to suspend service if an account remains unpaid.
13. Pricing
Current service pricing is communicated at the time of signup and may be updated from time to time.
There are no long-term contracts for standard weekly residential service unless otherwise specifically agreed upon in writing.
A change in service, number of bins, service location, or service type may result in a change to the customer's rate.
14. Cancellation of Service
Customers may cancel their standard weekly service by contacting Woodman’s Trash Removal by phone, text, or email.
Customers are responsible for any balance owed for service already provided.
Upon cancellation, Woodman’s Trash Removal will arrange for the company-owned trash bin to be retrieved.
Customers must make the bin available for retrieval.
Failure to return a company-owned bin may result in a replacement charge.
15. Bin Retrieval
When service is cancelled, Woodman’s Trash Removal will make reasonable efforts to retrieve company-owned bins.
Customers must ensure the bin is accessible and reasonably empty at the time of retrieval.
If a bin cannot be retrieved because of an obstruction, inaccessible location, or other customer-related issue, an additional trip may be required.
The customer may be responsible for reasonable costs associated with recovering a company-owned bin when the additional trip is caused by the customer.
16. Missed Pickup Claims
If your trash was properly prepared and accessible but was accidentally missed, please contact us as soon as possible so we can review the situation.
We will make reasonable efforts to correct verified service issues.
We cannot guarantee a return trip for trash that was not properly prepared, contained prohibited materials, was inaccessible, or was not placed out in time.
17. Customer Property & Liability
Customers are responsible for ensuring that their trash and pickup location are safe and accessible.
Woodman’s Trash Removal will take reasonable care while providing services. However, we are not responsible for damage caused by conditions outside of our reasonable control, including improperly placed objects, unstable surfaces, leaking trash, hazardous materials, or unsafe access conditions.
Customers are responsible for any damage to company-owned equipment caused by misuse, negligence, or prohibited materials.
18. Respectful Conduct
Woodman’s Trash Removal is committed to providing a safe and respectful working environment for our employees and customers.
Threatening, abusive, discriminatory, harassing, or unsafe behavior toward our employees or representatives will not be tolerated.
Woodman’s Trash Removal reserves the right to suspend or terminate service when a customer's conduct creates an unsafe or hostile working environment.
19. Changes to Services or Terms
Woodman’s Trash Removal may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time as our business, services, disposal requirements, or applicable laws change.
Updated Terms will be posted on our website with a revised “Last Updated” date.
